Project: Clusterdevelopment (CDev)

"Coordination, Cooperation & Services to improve the Cluster"

Central starting point of the new Aachen Cluster in.nrw is the personalization of medical technology.

Specialized consortia will develop innovative systems and solutions for cardiovascular therapy. The individual adaptation of medical devices and systems to the pathological needs of patients is implemented in six R&D projects, which all address cardiovascular therapy. Thus, the Medical Technology Cluster Aachen not only focuses on a very relevant medical indication, but also uses the outstanding potential of the region.

To integrate numerous aspects and partners in the region and to further develop strengths towards a cluster are the core ideas of the project ?Cluster-Development?. Central tasks are the coordination of cluster partners, to initiate new cooperation and to offer services for the region. Here, the R&D work of the involved scientists is connected to the transfer of knowledge, technology and know-how in order to improve the regional innovative power.

All activities for the establishment and support of the regional cluster in.nrw have one common aim: that in the medium term, people will turn to Aachen when it comes to personalized cardiovascular medical technology of tomorrow.

Survey about Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN)

While common or adjusted interfaces simplify applied research, we investigate the potential of electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) in university labs to improve working processes/ transfer. An online survey among 101 scientists out of academical, industrial and clinical environment has been conducted.

This is a research element of CDev, subproject of the cluster “Patient customized engineering for smart cardiovascular therapy” funded by NRW and EU-ERFRE.
